A couple of weeks ago I was browsing on Etsy looking for a way to make my hallway more functional.
I came across this notice board which I could use anywhere in the house.
The reviews where so good and the product looks stylish that straightforward I thought would fit perfectly in my kitchen wall, which was looking too white and boring at the time.
So I decided to buy it and I am so happy with my purchase that I wanted to share it here in this blog.
My kitchen noticeboard is from a shopping called LEBUFurniture at Etsy and it is totally handmade, except the glass and screws that come with.
They have different sizes and colours, I decided to choose the biggest size which it has a corkboard as well as a handpainted chalkboard to complement the board.
In the beginning I wasn’t sure which colour to choose, they have grey which looks lovely in the demo pictures as well.
I end up choosing white and I am glad I did just to keep the kitchen brighter for my food photography.
The chalkboard is well hand painted where I can write quick notes and clean well with a soft cloth.
Below the chalkboard it has a wooden pocket to hold my recipe cards which I am always collecting from the supermarkets to try new recipes.
On the corkboard side, it has a lovely glass mason jar style to put pens, pinboards or simply flowers from the season.
Underneath the corkboard has also some hooks which I will be using to leave my apron and probably a small calendar.
Delivery and packaging
When I ordered my kitchen noticeboard I thought would take a while to arrive.
For my surprise it came quick than I expected, everything took no more then 2 weeks, dispatch and delivery.
It was well packaged and instructed for the hanging, it also came with a adhesive template to put on the wall and serve as a guide for the holes.
Hanging and fitting choices
After receiving my kitchen noticeboard I couldn’t wait to hang on my wall, I was so curious to see how it would look like that it was fitted no more then half hour after receiving it.
To measure the height I put my board on the wall and the middle of it in the direction of my eyes, so It wouldn’t be too low or too high.
Before we start drilling we made sure to check if there were any metal, cables or studs passing behind the wall so we could avoid it.
After detecting we marked the wall with tape and put our adhesive template, which came with the board, to start drilling in the marked area of the tape.
Our wall is empty (plasterboard) so we decided to use our own screws even though the board came with screws.
We use 2 rawlplug hollow wall anchors M4 for cavity walls to fit pan-head screws and hold it well. We buy these from Homebase, but can be found in any DIY shop.
My husband is the one who did all the hard work for me. 🙂
And it is ready!!! I got an amazing functional noticeboard for my kitchen which I wasn’t even looking for.
If you are interested in a kitchen board, I highly recommend LEBUFurniture boards, go and check them on Etsy. 😉
